Distressed French Blue Twin Bed

I couldn't believe I contacted the person
selling this bed and they were literally across the busy
highway next to our house - the equivalent of two doors down.
Hard to beat that! ;-)

It's actually a very old bed that needed a lot of repair.
It's not perfect, but I think it turned out quite pretty.
It's these kind of pieces that make my girls go crazy!
Lol - they're like me just wanting to keep every piece. ;-)

I finished this piece in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint
Duck Egg Blue/Old White mix and
sealed it with Polycrylic.

It needed to be glued, clamped, decals were falling off, oiy!
It also did not come with siderails so I ordered up some
new hardware (which fits PERFECT~yay!) and
made up some painted wood siderails to match.
It also has one brand new wheel since one was missing.

I have never seen another bed like this, and
I am SO thrilled with all of the beautiful
details on the headboard and footboard!

LOOK at the LEGS on this beauty!!!

The inside of the footboard is refinished as well.

On a side note...some of you have inquired about "my" music.
Hmmm??? You all know I have a degree in Music Ministry, right?
Well...now you do! Haha!
I don't write many songs or have an album or anything,
but I'd be willing to record a little something
to share with you. I do it every week anyway! ;-)
Am I setting myself up for embarrassment and scrutiny?
Do you really want me to do that???

Love ya guys!

Have a FANTASTIC weekend!!!

This was a Goodwill find. Yay! :-)

a touch of Old White and replaced
it with some pretty knobs.

I've been pretty busy and have three other items
up for sale waiting for their photo shoots!

Also, my sister will finally be getting the last
thing in her studio - the rug!
We'll be getting a ton of some pictures of
the space so you can finally see it -
I can't wait!!!

If you didn't see this on the last post,
I wanted to let you know again.
As a head's up, I am active on the Facebook page nearly every day
as well as Twitter and Pinterest. I love blogging, but have found Facebook
to be a more practical way for me to interact with others!
Thanks SO much for following along. :-)

Please consider liking any of these pages, however
when I reach 500 Facebook fans I will do a

Because I LIKE you too!!! :-)

French Hutch Reveal!

It's been awhile since I picked up this piece of furniture, and I'm so glad I didn't get to it right away. I've learned a lot since then! I was going to refinish her in a safe and classic black or cream, but it just wasn't happening and I was getting impatient. Well, my impatience won me over and I got to work with some ASCP in Duck Egg Blue. So without further ado, I present to you....

"Adeline"

I love how the Duck Egg Blue turned out!
Some finishing details:
Clear waxed, a white primer and Graphite mix for the interior,
and both Duck Egg Blue and Paris Grey on the hardware.
Graphite used on the interior lower cabinets.
Sealed on the upper interior with Polycrylic,
and lower cabinets with a spray lacquer.

Upper interior light, wire lined non-opening upper side doors,
glass opening upper middle door.
New shelving was made and wrapped with dropcloth material!!!

Now prepare to be inundated with photos
in no particular order! :-)
