Moroccan Oil Treatment - Have You Tried It?

Ok...so I know I'm not a beauty blog, but I think in the midst of house-cleaning,
painting clothes, landscaping clothes, and work-out clothes,
I'm reminding myself that YES, I am a girly-girl at heart! :-)

First of all, I am in no way affiliated with anyone with this company,
nor am I being compensated in any way, shape, or form!

This past Christmas, I mentioned to a friend that my hair was feeling a
lot drier than normal and she recommended Argan Oil. I did a little
hair repair shopping at the salon and went with the name brand
(yes, SO unlike me, right?),
but let.me.tell.you.

This stuff is Ah-MAZ-ing!!!

11_oil-treatment

This is .85 oz. for $16.95

This is like a 2 inch tall bottle!!! Teeny!

But...

Let me give you my personal statistics:

1 dime sized amount per day
4-5 days a week

I've had this since just before Christmas and I still have
half of the bottle left! A little goes a LONG way,
and if you have any dryness, this stuff makes
your hair feel amazing, smell amazing, and look amazing.
I've often just used it instead of a styling product.

You could always just upgrade to
3.4 oz.  at $41.99  ;-)

Let me know if you try it ~ I'd love to know your results!

Fresh Christmas Greens by Diane Pfeifle

I've been feeling super spoiled the past day. Super, super, duper spoiled actually. Seriously. I love, love, LOVE fresh greens for Christmas. Last year I bought a 25ft. fresh garland from Costco and made wreaths and a garland for our door. I LOVED them! But they took.for.EVER! And what a mess. Wowza. :-)

Today I have the pleasure to share how you can have fresh, beautiful holiday greens for your home, whether shipped or decorated by the wonderfully sweet Diane Pfeifle of Hoh River, WA.

I contacted Diane through a Craigslist ad for her wreaths because they looked like just what I was looking for at a great price. Through various correspondence, Diane agreed to come and decorate our home with fresh greens in exchange for a review. Let me tell you right off the bat, she is fantastic and I truly love what she did in our home.

First of all, one thing in particular I love is that she has a direct
collaboration with local logging sources, and collects
leftover greens from downed trees that would
otherwise just be burned.
How great is that?!

When Diane arrived at our home, I gave her free
reign to do whatever she wanted. We decided to decorate
our banister and three large windows with wreaths.
(This is valued at $60)

She really took the time to make sure everything
looked just right and added beautiful details
to each piece she decorated.

I already am in love with the scent filling our house!

All of the three wreaths in our dining room windows
are a little bit different, but coordinate perfectly with
each other. Diane had everything from wire,
to ribbon, and filler pieces ready to go.

I love these little birdies...I told my girls
there is one for each of them. ;-)

She made and added many of these bows
right then and there to the wreaths.

Here is another detail picture.

And all three of the wreaths in the windows.

I love seeing them in our space. I'm used to spending SO
much time making everything I decorate with, so
it's still a bit strange to walk around the corner and
see everything done and decorated!

Thank you Diane!

Want A Stylish Baby/Pet Gate? Check This Out!

Ok.....so this is not a paid advertisement or anything (I wish!), but an honestly amazing product that I have used in our home as a mommy of little ones. When we first moved into our 2-story home a couple of years ago, our kids hadn't dealt with stairs ever before. At that time, our youngest was 4 months old so I started the research gig and landed on this GREAT option for a baby gate.

Safety gate for baby, pet, children at Retract-A-Gate.

And no, that's not me and my kid. :-)

The reason I'm even telling you about this is because I think it's actually a pretty stylish and affordable solution for virtually any space. I actually like really love them - a lot. I got two. One for the bottom of the stairs and one for the top. BUT you can get extra mounting brackets, pop it out, and move it - super simple and great for busy parents needing containment of kiddos!

Ok...totally copying and pasting from the website here:

We have an angled wall at the bottom of our stairs.

It was the PERFECT solution. Everything else I found was ugly,
permanent, and just as expensive. Seriously! No great options for angles. :-(
Except this!

We didn't use a banister kit, but we're pretty handy...we'll fix it when we remove it.

See where it "attaches" to the wall brackets?

Here's where you can "pop" it out really quick (but still baby proof people!)

Here's some price info. I think it's WELL worth it.
And I actually plan on getting a bit of that back via Craigslist!

Café (tan) 52"
$99.50/ea
Café (tan) 72"
$129.50/ea

White 52"
$99.50/ea
White 72"
$129.50/ea

My favorite (but mine wasn't the longer one)
is buying extra wall brackets, and then you can unhook and "swing" the gate
to the opposite wall in a hallway or whatnot. Does that make sense?

It is advertised as an
"Indoor/Outdoor Retractable Safety Gate For Kids & Pets"

What do you think? That was a super quick "review" of the gate,
but do you think you would go for something like this?
Do you think it looks better than most other gates?

I'll save another day for my "kid-catcher",
but SO worth it for our house on a hill. Google it. It's GREAT!

Also, just a quick reminder that you
can now follow RustiChic on Twitter and Pinterest -
I just added accounts! Yay!

Hope you're having a fantastic Wednesday!
